History & Experience of Note
Singing has been Emma's passion since she was a young girl, starting as a soloist in school choirs and musical productions. In 1997, at the age of 16 she was awarded Runner-Up position in the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Choir Girl Of The Year Competition (see Photo Gallery), which was judged by the late Sir Harry Secombe and Henry Kelly. It was in this competition that she had the pleasure of meeting and successfully competing against Katherine Jenkins.
This achievement opened up a coveted opportunity for Emma to become a member of The National Youth Choir Of Great Britain, which she sang with for five years also participating in the South Pacific World Tour (see Photo Gallery), performing in some magnificent venues in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth-South Africa, Perth and Cairns-Australia, Auckland and Christchurch-New Zealand, Hawaii and California-USA.
Emma's formal training at the world-renowned Italia Conti Academy Of Theatre Arts in London broadened her style of singing aside from choral and classical repertoires. It was here that she trained to sing for the stage, for musical theatre. The demanding tuition at Conti's also developed Emma's natural ability and love of dance, moulding her into an all-round performer.
With many invitations over the years to sing at Wedding ceremonies of family and friends, it was a natural development for Emma to pursue it professionally and to set up her wedding singing business. In 2004, professional engagements started flooding in after an interview with Emma was published in the glossy Condé Nast magazine 'Brides' - the world's best selling bridal title (see Photo Gallery to read the interview).
Emma has amassed a wealth of solo performing experience having sung at Weddings and special occasions for over 10 years - captivating audiences in the smallest of village churches to the largest of city cathedrals, country house hotels and distinguished London venues, Church ceremonies and Civil ceremonies alike.
